Stainless Steel cutlery from thedinersclub.co.uk~Stainless steel cutlery has been with us for 95 years, being developed here in Sheffield by Harry Brearley. The first stainless steel cutlery was produced in 1913. Since then it has become the cutlery of choice for many due to it's durability and resistance to staining. It polishes to a Hi mirror finish and keeps it's looks over a long time.
All our stainless steel cutlery is dishwasher safe. Our contemporary designs are all made from a generous gauge of 18/10 stainless steel that will not bend.
The traditional parish cutlery knives are all hollow handle construction from 18/10 stainless steel and not solid handles as seen in many inferior imitations of the Sheffield parish pattern cutlery.

A Little more history~Harry Brearly was the inventor of stainless steel. Despite being relatively young he was considered an authority in the field of metallurgy. A military requirement proved to be the reason for him using a combination of chromium and carbon to resist attack from acids and reduce friction ware.
Harry living in the cutlery capital of the world recognized the potential for this new metal in the cutlery trade. Thus in August 1913 the Sheffield cutlery industry had another world class leading product to assure Sheffield remained the name in everyone's mind for quality cutlery.
